124 Middle Lane, Behind Clawson’s Restaurant,  Beaufort,
North Carolina

The Backstreet Pub has been called the friendliest, funkiest little bar from Maine to Venezuela. Housed in a century-old former bakery, it is famous among sailors who course the ICW and who have covered the walls with nautical memorabilia. But the Backstreet is also a local hangout. For fishermen and writers, waitresses and tugboat captains, retired spies, deep sea divers and just about anyone looking for a cold beer, a fine wine and some decent conversation. And, perhaps, a game of cribbage.
Someone like you, for example.

We open at noon Monday through Saturday. At five on Sunday.

It’s a year round party. Some of the best rock/funk/blues bands on the East Coast keep the Backstreet rocking fifty two weekends a year. On Wednesday "Hoot Nites" local musicians gather for improv jams and our courtyard is a venue of the annual Beaufort Music Festival. Of course, our holiday parties are a matter of legend.
